A message from the president, May 16, 2020.
Hello again,
It’s been 9 weeks since we first learned that our May 2020 London Lesbian Film Festival was at risk of not happening. Initially hopeful that we would be able to postpone, we worked to secure venues to go forward in the fall. However, it is clear to us now that this, while optimistic, is no longer a viable or responsible option.
We are currently targeting April 30th through May 2nd, 2021 for our 29th annual film festival and we hope to see you all there. The highly anticipated 30th anniversary will just have to wait for one more year.
Some of you have asked if we will be presenting an online festival this year and our answer to that is no. As you all know we are a not-for-profit enterprise fully run by volunteers, and while we would love to provide an online experience we do not have the resources to make something like this happen. We hope to begin our usual planning in September for the 2021 festival.
As you can imagine, we have been dealt a financial blow as a result of this pandemic, please continue to support our sponsors and advertisers as you are able, they are a key part of keeping our festival alive. We will continue to be active on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and our website.
If you have any specific questions for us please email shout@llff.ca and we will do our best to address them. Stay in touch with us, with each other, and with the LGBTQ2+ community at large because we are stronger together.
Thanks,
Debi DeMillePresident, LLFF Reeling Spinsters
